Online + Field Day Hunter Education Course

Hunter Education Instructor Teaching Students Under 17

Online Course plus a 4 hour Field Day

 

This course is designed for adults new to hunting & mature youth who are familiar with firearms, hunting & the shooting sports. Students should have some experience ‘in the field’ and/or have good adult mentors to teach them. Not recommended for youth under 10 years old.

Two Steps to Certification

1st – Complete the hunter education Online Home Study course. Then…

2nd – Attend a ‘Field Day’ to complete the certification process with a TPWD Certified Hunter Education Instructor.

  • Participate in a hunter ‘skills trail’ designed with wildlife decoys & props aimed at making hunters ‘think’ about the safety of each shot, shoot/don’t shoot scenarios, the laws/ethics of the shot & hunting strategies to consider.

  • Participate in a live-fire component aimed at making sure each hunter knows the basics of safe gun handling and shooting skills, muzzle control, safety mechanisms, loading, aiming & hitting a target.

 

Upon completion of the Hunter Education Online Home Study Course at TexasHunterEd.com, you will:

  1. Print out a “Field Day Voucher” that you will take to the 'Field Day' as proof you successfully completed the online home study course.

  2. Choose a Field Day to attend & reserve a spot! Choose from…
  3. Complete the Field Day & receive final certification.
